KVPR (the local NPR-affiliated Fresno radio station) had a long-running program called Valley Writers Read (VWR), hosted by Franz Weinschenk, a Fresno educator and writer. For 25 years, Weinschenk promoted the work of central San Joaquin Valley writers. Every year between 2008 and 2014, VWR accepted one of Hope’s stories that she read on air. Thanks to Don Weaver from KVPR, who made the recordings and interwove the requested music into the piece. Below are links to recordings of five of the seven personal essays that were aired.
